Service Description

Scent Skills Foundations Now that your dog knows how much fun using their nose can be, it’s time to build real scent detection skills. In Scent Skills Foundations, dogs learn to search for birch and anise odours while handlers develop the skills to read their dogs, understand search behaviour and work together as a team. We’ll build confidence, search independence, indication skills and the ability to work through increasingly interesting search challenges. Classes may take place indoors or outdoors, giving dogs experience working scent in different environments. This course also introduces the skills needed for our Scent Games Foundations Trials, making it a great choice for teams interested in eventually stepping into a beginner-friendly Trial environment. But competition is never required. Scent Skills Foundations is designed to be taken more than once. Search setups and challenges change, so each session gives your dog new problems to solve while strengthening the foundations they already have. Come back, keep searching, and watch your dog’s skills grow. Prerequisites: Intro to Scent Detection
