Intro to Scent Detection Discover just how incredible your dog’s nose really is! Intro to Scent Detection is the perfect starting point for dogs and handlers who are brand new to scent work. We’ll introduce the basics of searching, teach your dog that using their nose is rewarding, and help you learn how to recognize when your dog is working scent. This class is about building enthusiasm, confidence and a strong foundation while introducing handlers to the fascinating world of scent detection. No previous scent work experience is needed. Dogs of all ages, breeds and abilities can enjoy this sport. Intro to Scent Detection is designed as a one-time introductory course. From here, teams are ready to continue into Scent Skills Foundations and start building their search skills. Prerequisites - manners 2 or similar. Your dog should be comfortable in a group setting and reliable on leash.
